About Us
Stud History
Janevelyn Stud was established back in the early 80's, concentrating on purely Arabians and Arabian Derivatives.
A decision was made in the early 90's to purchase a stallion for our own use with the intention of breeding quality Derivatives, Chippenham Dynasty (Treharne Talisman x Chippenham Honey Suckle) joined us then. The most influential of Dynasty's offspring has been Janevelyn McPherson (from Janevelyn Elegant Lady), McPherson is the dam of Janevelyn McCree, Janevelyn McBeal and Janevelyn Madrid. McPherson now resides at Aspen Way Pony Stud.
With the arrival of Dynasty the Riding Pony bug bit hard, all of our Pure Arabian stock where dispersed, establishing a Riding Pony and Arabian Derivative breeding program.
As the Stud grew so did our needs for another stallion, Dynasty was sold and Chippenham Jaguar (Treharne Talisman x Lady Landfred) was purchased. Jaguar's use at Janevelyn was to mainly breed Galloway's, and that he did, especially clicking well with the Arabian Derivative mares, his offspring include Janevelyn Jazz and Janevelyn Jazzman both from the Arabian Derivative mare Janevelyn Elegant Lady.
Another younger stallion was also purchased just after Jaguar's arrival, Weston Mirage. Mirage became our senior sire and produced some amazing offspring, please view our tribute to Mirage.
Mirage sired many foals for us and we commenced our search for a young stallion who would compliment the Mirage stock, we found this in Langtree Eye of the Storm.
With the arrival of Eye of the Storm and the commencement of our reduction of numbers Chippenham Jaguar was sold to Krystelle Park WA, where he is still siring some lovely foals.
Weston Mirage had a long time admirer in Diane Jose from Salisbury Stud who purchased Mirage from us in 2002. Mirage remained at Janevelyn until his unfortunate death late last year.
Langtree Eye of the Storm produced his first foal crop this season. Mainly bred to pony mares we are very pleased with the results and excited about the next drop as we have a number of larger mares in foal this season.
